Lubniewice

Lubniewice is a picturesque town in the Lubuskie region of Poland. The town is within easy reach of Berlin and the Polish cities of Poznan, Szczecin, Zielona Gora and Gorzow Wlkp. With a population of just over 20,000 people, Lubniewice is one of the smallest and most attractive towns in Poland. Lubniewice and the surrounding area is blessed with many lakes, forests and historic monuments. The town itself is situated on a narrow strip of land between three large lakes. These lakes are full of fish and ideal for canoe and kayak enthusiasts and indeed any form of water sports. The forests, which cover more than 70% of the Lubniewice and Lagow lake district, are full of wildlife, birds, and delicious wild mushrooms. Historic monuments include a 15th century Gothic Church; a neoclassical Palace Castle and park; and a neo Renaissance Castle. Several nearby villages and towns also have castles and palaces which will delight any visitor to the area.

Because of its many attractions and unspoilt nature Lubniewice is a fast developing tourist destination. Horse riding, walking and cycling trails and paths have all appeared in recent years. The town of Lubniewice and area around offers many different forms of accommodation from a comfortable room in a local's house or flat to a self-contained apartment or log cabin and up to four star luxury hotels. There are also a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants for visitors to choose from, and a weekly Polish dance every Saturday over the summer. Lubniewice is a destination which can be enjoyed all year round, but the main tourist season extends from late April to November.
